WHO ARE PERTHI KOV?

Perthi Kov (Cornish for ‘remember’) is a Redruth-based community group that creates immersive, site-specific theatre walks and events. The group was originally formed to research, write and produce ‘Until the Day Break’ (May 2017) a series of story walks, which brought together professional and community-based researchers, writers, actors, musicians, and theatre makers to celebrate the extraordinary lives of some of the men, women, and children buried in the historic St Euny churchyards, in Redruth, Cornwall.

Our work fuses historical research and imaginative response to bring the past to life for the present.

PERTHI KOV PEOPLE

At the heart of Perthi Kov is a group of women from very diverse walks of life and a huge range of ages (the youngest is 20, the oldest 70!) A retired businesswoman, a young event manager, a school governor, a retired teacher, an artist and a cultural historian. They are joined by researchers, musicians, composers, actors, choirs, children, writers, poets, visual artists to make projects celebrating past lives lived.
